Entry requirements
A relevant bachelor degree or a comparable degree (minimum 180 CP) and an average grade of minimum 2.9 of the exam performances
A degree is considered relevant with a minimum number of 50 credit points in business administration and a minimum of 15 credit points in political eco-nomics, as well as a minimum of 16 credit points in quantitative modules.
A proof of relevance is required for admission.

Objectives
The objective of the study program is to enable students to recognize problems independently, to solve these problems self-sufficiently with an economic foundation and to deduce action alternatives based on these solutions. The students learn to think systematically and develop advanced analytical skills, both of which will qualify the students for management as well as consulting positions. The students learn to understand complex coherences and to view and evaluate problems from multiple perspectives.
Students discuss fundamental as well as recent research questions from selected areas of business administration. They acquire in-depth knowledge and skills in theoretic concepts, models and procedures connected to these research questions. The study programs offers a qualification in at least two faculty approved specialization areas. Those are:
- Accounting and Taxation
- Finance
- Logistics and Operations Management
- Marketing and E-Business
- Management and Entrepreneurship
- Economics
Modules are offered in German as well as English. One main objective is to link subject-specific competences with international dimensions.
Career Perspectives
The qualifications of the study program Betriebswirtschaftslehre / Business Economics enable alumni to - sector-independently - work in management positions, in policy units in private and public corporations, in business consultancies, in banks and insurances, as well as in public utilities and transportation companies. Private corporations are e.g. industrial corporations (material goods production, capital goods production, energy industry), commercial enterprises (wholesale, mail order businesses), and service companies (transport, distribution, waste management). Alongside managerial functions, alumni can also work as entrepreneurs or pursue an academic career.
Graduates are well-prepared for an economic Ph.D. program.
Competencies and Interests Required
Prospective students should be curious about economic issues and should be equipped with good or very good skills in mathematics and the English language.
