Objectives
Graduates are qualified for a scientifically oriented and research-oriented activity in the field of mechatronics; they can work on scientifically demanding tasks in their profession or in a subsequent doctorate. The focus is on interdisciplinary engineering and scientific methods; their application will require solid mathematical and scientific basic and special knowledge.
Majors
- mechatronic systems
- control and automation technology
- electric drives
- robotics
- adaptronics
- automotive systems
- microsystems
- energy systems
- medical technology systems
Career Perspectives
Mechatronics master graduates work primarily in the area of research and development, whereby interesting perspectives are also offered in testing or sales. The future job can range from a large corporation, a larger or smaller medium-sized enterprise to small, independent engineering companies. Due to the broad interdisciplinary and system-oriented training, mechatronics engineers are demanded in many areas. At this point, only a few industries should be mentioned:
- vehicle, railway and aircraft technology
- medical technology
- machine tools and robotics
- consumer goods, household and environmental technology
- microtechnology
- power engineering
- office and computer technology
- ..
and, of course, all young and innovative industries that develop the modern and flexible products of tomorrow.
Competencies and Interests Required
Generally good knowledge and interest in mathematics and natural sciences as well as fun with technology and interdisciplinary work are best prerequisites for successful studies. Admission for the master programme requires a bachelor or comparable degree.
More information
Mechatronics is offered as a joint programme of the Faculties of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
