Re-registration
Re-registration period for the summer semester 2025 is from January 14, 2025 until February 10, 2025.
The re-registration is your official statement that you continue your studies at OVGU Magdeburg.
- The semester fee for summer semester 2025 amounts to: 278.90 Euro.
- Re-registration will only be carried out if the full amount was paid until February 10, 2025.
- In case of late re-registration you must pay an additional amount of 10.30 Euro.
- In case you intend to apply for Master studies or to change your study programme you still have to pay the semester fee within the re-registration period.

PROCEDURE FOR RE-REGISTRATION
You re-register via the student’s portal myOVGU. OVGU uses single SEPA direct debit mandates for student transactions. This means that you have to authorise the OVGU every semester again to collect payments and fees. Payments and fees will be collected after you have created the mandate in myOVGU. You do not have to submit any individual document to the students’ office. Instead you have to state your bank details at every re-registration. If you re-register by bank transfer it might take up to five days before your new student data will be available.

Please mind that you are not automatically re-registered for each semester. You always have to re-register yourself during the respective periods. In case you cannot provide sufficient account coverage, be aware that your bank will not cover the difference.
Payment of the semester fee by SEPA direct debit is possible despite of blockages for re-registration. Furthermore this kind of payment is recommended in order to meet the above-mentioned re-registration deadline. In order to delete the re-registration blockages any missing documents have to be submitted. After successful deletion of the re-registration blockages, re-registration will be carried out by the students' office.
You might have to pay a so called “Rücklastschriftgebühr” (return debit charge) on top of the regular payment, meaning a fee that covers the handling of this issue by your bank.

Please Note: After the abbreviation "MYOVGU" you must put in your matriculation number without any spaces between the digits. The complete "reason for transfer" must be given without spaces. If the enrollment number is 123456, the reason for transfer is 20251MYOVGU123456.
If you re-register via bank transfer, check your student account regularly to make sure that you have been re-registered for the relevant semester.
