Objectives

A video conference in the USA, a business trip to Japan and a telephone conference with colleagues in Rome, Istanbul and Madrid: global working is not only the order of the day in large companies, but also in medium-sized businesses. The International Management study program prepares students for these challenges and teaches much more than business administration at an international level. In addition, semesters abroad enable students to acquire international management expertise and develop intercultural skills.

Topics such as internationalization strategies and intercultural management are covered as well as marketing, innovation, finance, human resources and digital transformation. Students will be able to recognize challenges for different business areas in internationally operating organizations and develop solution strategies for them. The International Management degree program promotes independent, analytical and critical thinking. In addition, this degree program places particular emphasis on the development of intercultural competence as a key qualification for future career entry.

Majors

The program offers a scientifically sound management education that is optimized for later employment in international fields of activity. After a specialist and methodological foundation course, it is possible to have credit points earned at foreign universities recognized. Training in English is integrated into the program; from the third semester onwards, some courses are held in English. In addition, every student can take selected courses in English from the first semester onwards. This is not a must, students decide for themselves how confident they already feel in English.

In the specialization program, courses from the areas of

  • International Management
  • International Economics
  • International Politics & Society

can be chosen.

In addition to subject-related courses, there are special courses in which interdisciplinary and personal key skills are acquired. Students can receive credit for voluntary work as part of the "CoMeT - Competencies and Methods Training" for voluntary work.

Career Perspectives

The program prepares students for flexible employment in all areas related to business management.

Graduates can start their careers in internationally oriented or internationalizing companies, regardless of the industry.

The graduates are excellently prepared for admission to Master's programs in business and economics.
