Career Perspectives
The study program open graduates a broad career prospect in Germany and abroad, especially in industrial and commercial enterprises. Typical areas of application are: controlling, project management, investment and financing, technical purchasing and distribution and company management. Graduates are able to take on management tasks and solve complex problems of industrial production together with specialists. The degree also enables the continuation of academic training within a (consecutive) master's course.
Competencies and Interests Required
Solid knowledge in mathematics and physics as well as a certain technical understanding are a good prerequisite for the study. Good communication and organizational skills are also expected. It is recommended to complete a 4-week basic practical course before the start of the studies, as this will promote the understanding of the contents already at the beginning semesters. Proof of completion of the basic internship must be provided no later than the end of the 4th semester.
More information
The course of studies is structured in such a way that the students specialize (semesters 5 and 6) on the basis of a compulsory program (semesters 1 to 4) according to their interests. Part of the course is also a specialist internship of a total of 12 weeks. As a new form of teaching, semester-accompanying projects in teams are handled by the students. The course is concluded with a Bachelor thesis in the 7th semester.
The degree also enables the continuation of academic training in a (consecutive) master's course.
