1. Exam registration (grade/certificate, required modules, deadlines)
-
How do I register for an oral exam/project or the third attempt at an oral exam?
-
I cannot deregister from an oral exam/project via LSF, even though the deregistration deadline (3 days before the exam date) has not yet passed.
-
I'm not receiving a response to my exam registration via email, and the registration deadline is approaching – is this a problem?
-
Can I register for a module for both grade and certificate at the same time and decide later?
-
Can I change my exam registration from grade to certificate or vice versa before the exam?
-
I have to complete required modules – can I also take bachelor's courses for this, and how do I register for these exams?
-
I missed the registration period for an exam – can I still register?
-
I failed one module based on grade, but passed other modules in the same field. Can I switch the failed module to a certificate of completion?
-
I am studying under the old PO 2017 and I am still missing 1-3 math modules – what should I do?
Most module exams (including oral exams) are registered via LSF. For the few individual exams that are not registered via LSF (e.g., individually arranged exams, third attempt at an oral exam), please complete the "Registration Form for Individually Arranged Exams" in full and send it by email or drop it in the mailbox in front of the Examinations Office. Forms: https://www.fin.ovgu.de/Studium/Während+des+Studiums/Prüfungsamt/Formulare.html
If an exam date has been scheduled but is not yet visible in LSF, you cannot deregister via LSF. In this case, you must deregister directly with the examiners via email.
Similarly, if no exam date has been scheduled, you cannot deregister via LSF. In this case, the examination office will process your withdrawal at the end of the semester.
No. If the module was requested via email for manual registration within the deadline, processing may take some time due to high email volume; this is not the students' fault.
No, registering twice is technically impossible. You must choose one option, but you can change it later.
Yes, a change of assessment method is possible and must be requested from the examination office via email. A change from a certificate of completion to a graded assessment must be requested no later than 14 days before the examination date. Conversely, a change from a graded assessment to a certificate of completion must be requested no later than three days before the examination date.
Yes, Bachelor's modules can be taken as supplementary modules. If registration in LSF is not possible, please inform the examination office by email.
Submit an informal application for late exam registration, including a justification and your signature, to the examination office. They will then forward the application to the chair of the examination board for a decision.
No. A module that has been failed with a grade must be completed with a grade. Switching to a certificate of completion afterward is not possible.
According to the decision of the Faculty Council of 08.1.2025: For Mathe 1, Mathe M1 and Mathe M5 must be taken, for Mathe 2 Mathe M2, for Mathe 3 Mathe M3.
Students who have already taken a discontinued math module but failed it must repeat the module in the form of the new math modules.
