Activation of the Deutschlandsemesterticket
Students who wish to use this service must register with the easy.GO service themselves in accordance with the instructions available at https://www.ovgu.de/unimagdeburg_media/anleitung_deutschlandsemesterticket.pdf and voluntarily allow Otto von Guericke University to pass on their data to the provider as part of this registration. When using the university's single sign-on procedure, students are informed separately about the type of data passed on and its purpose. The personal data will only be transmitted to the provider after the students have given their consent.

In March 2024, there was a student referendum on the introduction of the Germany semester ticket at OVGU from the winter semester 2024/25. With a participation of 38.83% of all OVGU students, a majority of 59.93% voted in favor of the Deutschlandsemesterticket and thus against the regular MVB semester ticket. Further information can be found on the OVGU Student Council's website.
All students enrolled at OVGU who have paid their semester fee into the OVGU account can use the Deutschlandsemesterticket.
The Deutschlandsemesterticket is valid nationwide throughout Germany on all forms of public transport (except ICE, IC/EC).
The Deutschlandsemesterticket is available to OVGU students for the first time from winter semester 2024/25. The Deutschlandsemesterticket is valid from the first day of the respective semester (01.10. for winter semester/ 01.04. for summer semester) for which the semester fee has been paid. It is valid until the last day of the respective semester (31.03. for winter semester/ 30.09. for summer semester).
You can activate your Deutschlandsemesterticket from 25.09. for a winter semester and from 25.03. for a summer semester. From the date on which the Deutschlandsemesterticket can be activated for another semester, it can no longer be activated for the semester that is coming to an end.

In order to access the Deutschlandsemesterticket in the “easy.GO” app, you must have re-registered for the semester for which the Deutschlandsemesterticket is supposed to apply and have paid the semester fee into the account of the OVGU; the receipt of this payment must have been marked in OVGU’s master data. Furthermore, access is only possible from 25.09./25.03.
It is also necessary to install the latest version of the “easy.GO” app on your smartphone (iOS: 5.3.0, Android: 5.3.1). If you have installed the “easy.GO” app on your smartphone before 25.09.2024, please update it via your smartphone's app store.

The Deutschlandsemesterticket can only be accessed digitally via a smartphone. For this you need the MVB's "easy.GO" app. The Deutschlandsemesterticket is only valid in combination with an official photo ID.

Yes. The Deutschlandsemesterticket is valid until the end of the semester for which it was activated. Please make sure that you have activated your Deutschlandsemesterticket before you de-register.
No. In accordance with §5 para. 1 of the fee regulations of the Student Union Magdeburg, it is not possible to obtain a partial reimbursement of the fee for the Deutschlandsemesterticket.
In order to receive a refund of the Deutschlandsemesterticket, the application for de-registration must be completed in full (including the discharge note) and submitted to the WelcomeDesk of the Campus Welcome Center (Building 01 Main Campus) or by e-mail () by September 15th (for the winter semester) / March 15th (for the summer semester). After this deadline, a refund can only be guaranteed if you de-register in person by September 24th (for the winter semester) / March 24th (for the summer semester) during the office hours of the Students’ Office at the Campus Welcome Center. Please mind the respective office hours and book an appointment in time.
For applications that are submitted after September 15th (for the winter semester) / March 15th (for the summer semester) incomplete or outside our office hours, refund of the Deutschlandsemesterticket cannot be guaranteed.
The refund of the Deutschlandsemesterticket will be made to the account from which the semester fee was paid at the time of re-registration.
Reimbursement of the fee for the Studentenwerk and the fee for the Student Council must still be applied for by October 31st/April 30 at Studentenwerk Magdeburg. Further information can be found here.
No. It is not possible to activate the ticket retrospectively. Please activate your Deutschlandsemesterticket before you submit your application for de-registration.
Students who spend a semester abroad have the option to request a refund of the fee for the Deutschlandsemesterticket by the Student Union Magdeburg.To do so, the following documents must be submitted to the Student Union Magdeburg () by 15.09. for a winter semester or by 15.03. for a summer semester:
- Application form for reimbursement
- Evidence of your stay abroad (e.g. proof of internship, documents concerning your Erasmus semester, etc.)
- proof of payment of the semester fee
- valid certificate of enrollment
Please note that the fee will be refunded in the course of the semester for which the application was submitted.
No. Subsequent activation is not possible. Please activate your Deutschlandsemesterticket before submitting your application for de-registration.
No. It is only possible to re-register/enroll if the whole semester fee, including the contribution for the Deutschlandsemesterticket, has been paid.

No. The Deutschlandsemesterticket can only be accessed by students who have paid their semester fee to OVGU.
Yes. It is possible to download the ticket again provided that you have enrolled for the relevant semester.
The system language of the smartphone must be set to English or a language other than German in order for the app contents to be displayed in English.
It is not possible to convert the Deutschlandticket into the Deutschlandsemesterticket. Please cancel your Deutschlandticket in due time according to the applicable fare regulations and activate your Deutschlandsemesterticket in the “easy.Go” app.
The smartphone must be connected to the Internet once at the beginning of each month. After that, you can retrieve the Deutschlandsemesterticket in offline mode. When retrieving the ticket, a message will initially appear stating that there is no internet connection, but the ticket will still be displayed.
