Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships fund individual research projects by postdoctoral researchers. Proposals can be submitted for all scientific disciplines.

There are two types of fellowships:

European Postdoctoral Fellowship

  •  1-2-year projects at an institution in Europe (in an EU member state or country associated with the Horizon Europe program)
  •  Postdocs of any nationality with a maximum of 8 years of research experience (full-time) since their doctorate are eligible to apply


Global Postdoctoral Fellowships

  • 1-2 year research stay outside Europe
  •  followed by a mandatory 1-year return phase in Europe
  •  Postdocs with a maximum of 8 years of research experience (full-time) since their doctorate and with nationality of an EU member state or a country associated with the Horizon Europe program or "long-term residents" are eligible to apply



The MSCA mobility rule applies to all fellowships: you must not have lived or have carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host institution (for European Postdoctoral Fellowships) or in the country of the host institution for the outgoing phase (for Global Postdoctoral Fellowships) for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to the submission deadline.

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks

Innovative doctoral programs are funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks.

The up to 15 doctoral students per project work on their own research project for up to 3 years and receive additional innovative training during this time to prepare them optimally for the job market.

Applications can be submitted for all research topics, there are no predetermined topics (bottom-up).

The aim is to give candidates good career prospects after completing their doctorate, both in the academic and non-academic sector. It is therefore recommended that institutions from the non-academic sector are also integrated into the consortium.


The MSCA mobility rule applies to all doctoral candidates: they must not have lived or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host institution for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to their recruitment.

MSCA4UKRAINE

The MSCA4Ukraine programme offers MSCA scholarships specifically for refugee researchers from Ukraine.

Projects by doctoral students and postdocs lasting 6 to 24 months are funded.

The second call for proposals is currently being prepared and will be published in May 2024.
