Studying & Teaching
The objective of the teaching at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is educating students to become creative people capable of offering criticism, and equipping them with problem solving skills, team skills, intercultural knowledge and an awareness of their responsibilities. With a commitment to teaching freedom, it places the emphasis on solutions with an academic basis and an associated critical attitude and lasting keenness to learn, the acquisition of which also includes giving students the tools to take up a career in future, but which does not end there. Rather, it is about laying the foundation blocks for a life-long willingness to learn and achieving this through attractive continuing education and training programmes.
The teaching at the University of Magdeburg features a variety of forms of communication, which challenge students and make it possible for them to acquire knowledge and deal with problems and tasks independently. As a cooperation partner for the Olympic Support Centre for the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the University of Magdeburg offers the ideal study conditions for competitive sports people.
