We would like you to have a comfortable and enjoyable start in Magdeburg and to discover the university and the city together. This is why the IKUS initiative (Intercultural Students), the International Office of the university and the Student Services (Studentenwerk Magdeburg) have organised the International Welcome Weeks for the winter semester 2024 for all new students. During our IKUS office hours, we will help you with any questions about the university and living in Magdeburg.

Counselling for finding accommodation for new international students takes place from 24 September 2024 – 24 October 2024 in the InterKultiTreff (IKT).

Due to the relocation of the International Office to the new Campus Welcome Center (Building 01), there are new office hours for all our staff. Please check the pages of the respective employees for the new times and locations of the appointments. To book an appointment, please use the respective appointment booking tool as usual. You can reach us in Building 01 via the main entrance directly next to the Uni-Porta (at the tram stop "Universität"), all appointments take place either in the Consultation Room East or in the Atrium of Building 01.

PHD students, researchers and technical and administrative staff have the opportunity to receive funding for a stay at one of the EU GREEN partner institutions via the EU GREEN Research Mobility Program. In individual cases, Master's students may also be funded.
